So we have a reason to celebrate at the minute and we’ve been dying to scream it from the rooftops… but somehow I don’t think that would be appreciated much on the streets of Newcastle!

We are over the moon after hearing we have been short-listed for three, yes that’s right, THREE awards at this year’s CIPR North East PRide Awards!

So this is how it feels to grab a hattrick?!

We’ve had a fair bit of success at the PRide Awards to date, scooping both gold and silver awards last year as well as three silver awards in 2007. Let’s hope we can make it three in a row and grab some more success this time around.

I guess it is true what they say about great things coming in threes!

We have been short-listed in the following categories:

Category: Best Event

Campaign: SPAM® Cook of the Year 2009

Category: Public Sector

Campaign: Healthy Schools Sunderland

Category: Consumer Relations

Campaign: Launch of brasher Lithium XCR

Being short-listed is an achievement in its own right so we couldn’t be happier to be in the running for three this year.

The CIPR North East PRide Awards are set to take place on 6th November and we are already beginning to get our game faces on, so watch this space!

Golley Slater have been appointed by Public Contracts Scotland to carry out a wide variety of business to business PR initiatives focusing on the SME sector.

The Public Contracts Scotland web portal is a free service that provides a single point of reference for all public sector business opportunities in Scotland. The site provides businesses with opportunities to tender for public sector work, ranging from medical equipment and catering supplies, through to facility management service and construction repair and maintenance.

Launched in October 2008, the site has grown rapidly with 378 public sector bodies and 33,000 suppliers registered, with almost 4000 notices posted every month. The site attracts over 100,000 visitors every month. All public bodies are expected to eventually use Public Contracts Scotland to advertise business opportunities.

Golley Slater will work with PCS to promote the portal to SMEs around Scotland, focusing on how simple it is to use the portal to win business from public sector bodies. This is Golley Slater’s most recent business win as part of our inclusion in The Scottish Government PR roster.

Take a look at www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk for all manner of new business opportunities available through the public sector.
